The Audubon County Public Health Nursing Service...
Is certified to provide care covered by Medicare, Medicaid, Veteran’s Administrative, and private insurance. Fees are based on your ability to pay. Services are provided at no charge if you are unable to pay.

We can help if you need us:

Skilled Nursing by a Registered Nurse on an intermittent basis working with you and your physician.

Home Care Aide to help with bathing, hair care, exercise or other treatments supervised by a Registered Nurse.

Homemakers to help with routine tasks (dusting, vacuuming, etc.) needed to maintain your home, infrequent transportation to the doctor’s office or hospital, prepare your meals or do your shopping.

HOPES Family Support Workers to help build strong parent-child relationships. A program to assist families and before a birth or with newborns and young children to five years of age.

Health Promotion Nursing for future parents and those with new babies or other family needs.

Immunization Clinics held every third Wednesday of every month at the Courthouse from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m for children between the ages of 0-18 years of age. A $10 donation is encouraged to help defer costs.

Other Services include health teaching, blood pressure screening to civic, social or business groups. We also help control communicable disease, have information on referral services, provide services to schools, and bioterrorism planning.

The Audubon County Board of Health is a part of local government structure and is the governing board for the board for Audubon County Public Health Nursing Service. The members establish policy framework for public health. In matters concerning public health, the board of health members are official representatives of all the citizens they serve at the county level. The Board of Health provides critical governance functions in providing local public health vision, mission and advocacy and encouraging community involvement in selecting public health priorities through the community health needs assessment and health improvement plan. The Board of Health Members consist of the following members:
